Cochrane Cup Rugby League
St Paul’s U14 Years rugby league team made the short trip to Port Macquarie on Tuesday 24 June. The team were playing in the Cochrane Cup (named after one of Mr Robinson’s former coaches, Mr Bob Cochrane).

St Paul’s played three games against very good opposition across a demanding day and won all their games. The first game against MacKillop College was a close affair in which St Paul’s clawed their way back to win 16-10 with tries to Cruze Schubert, Alastar O’Donnell and Ashton Swaine, with Ashton converting two of the tries. Game two was against St Joseph’s Regional College who tried hard but were no match for St Paul’s College. We won this game comfortably by 24-6 with tries to Alastar O’Donnell x 2, Jordy Kirkman Dates, Hamish Davies and Goals to Ashton Swaine x 3 and Alastar O’Donnell. The third game against St John Paul College, Coffs Harbour, was the final where both undefeated teams came together looking to progress to the northern NSW finals in Coffs Harbour on July 24. St Paul’s started well, scoring the first try. It was a back and forth game with both teams trading scores. Alastar, Jordy and Rustie Watt all crossed for St Paul’s with the reliable boot of Ashton Swaine and the proximity of the tries to the goal posts ensuring an excellent 18-16 win to St Paul’s College.

St Paul's College Athletics Carnival
The College Athletics Carnival is scheduled for Friday 25 July (Week 1 - Term 3). This is a compulsory event for all students and a great way to develop House and School Spirit. Long course events (1500m, 800m & 400m) will most likely occur on Thursday 24 August, however this is yet to be confirmed. A nomination spreadsheet will be released for the long course events that will close on the first day back next Term.
