Pastoral Care

St Paul’s College has now transitioned into our new Student Level System for Pastoral Care. The system is outlined below and there will be parent contact if students move into the Amber or Red Levels.

Your child's Level will be visible on the Compass dashboard for students and parents.

Student Behaviour Level System

Platinum Level:

All students with no red Compass Chronicle entries.

Outcomes of Platinum:

Gold Commendation if they haven’t already received one at the end of Semester Commendation Ceremony.

Green Level:

All students with Minimal level rated Compass Chronicle entries.

Outcomes of Green:

At least a Bronze Commendation at the end of Semester Commendation Ceremony.

Amber Level:

Triggered by:

  • 4 minor chronicle infringements recorded across 1 Term or
  • 4 Teacher Led Detentions for any reason across 1 Term or
  • 2 Major discipline incidents across 1 Term or
  • A combination of 4 of the above across 1 Term.

Outcomes of Amber:

  • Yellow monitoring card for 5 days
  • No extracurricular activities during five days of monitoring card (This includes Green Group, sports representation, Show team etc.)
  • If not ‘satisfactory’ for 5 days of yellow card monitoring, then an additional day for each day ‘unsatisfactory’ on Yellow card.
  • 10 days on a Yellow monitoring card with continued unsatisfactory will incur an Internal suspension and move to Red.
  • Students on Amber report daily to Pastoral Coordinators.
  • Students moving back through Amber from Red will not need to complete a monitoring card.

Red Level:

Triggered by:

  • Return from internal or external suspension or
  • 4 major discipline incidents or
  • 2 afternoon detentions

Outcomes of red:

  • 5 days (internal) or 10 days (external) red card monitoring of behaviour.
  • All days MUST be fully satisfactory whilst on the card.
  • No representation or involvement in extracurricular activities outside the classroom while on Red level.
  • Probation period until levels are reviewed after Red Card and stays on red level (minimum three weeks).
  • More than 1 external suspension triggers a parent interview and behaviour plan.

If Red card is not All satisfactory then:

  • Time on a Red card is extended, if 5 days it will be increased to 10.
  • Students on Red Card report to a member of the Senior Executive on a daily basis.
  • If already at 10 days and unsatisfactory behaviour is recorded an interview with AP to discuss enrolment and interventions to date.
  • Continued unsatisfactory triggers enrolment interview with Principal.

This new Level System is strongly supporting the teaching and assistant teaching staff at St Paul’s to reward positive student behaviour and works hand in hand with the Positive Behaviour Reward (PBRS) points system.

The following students have been awarded the PBRS Points Winners for Term 3 and will be rewarded with a $100 gift card.

  • Year 7 - Hudson Gidzala - Edmund
  • Year 8 - Clarence Northey - Farrelly
  • Year 9 - Evelyn Schipp - Edmund
  • Year 10 - Jayden Allen - Edmund
  • Year 11 - Mikayla Cameron - Edmund
  • Year 12 - Louis Gambrill - MacKillop

These students are all excellent examples of the positive and highly motivated students we like to have here at St Paul’s and are fully deserving of these prizes.
